A Call For Holiness

What is Holiness?

God has instructed his people to walk Holy for he is Holy

Holiness is the state of being Holy – the state of abstinence from sin by the intervention of the Power of the Holy Spirit with his transforming works, to bring Purity of the spirit and Faithfulness to The Light, Jesus Christ is The Light Of the world.

For us to walk in the righteousness of God we must first encounter God’s Salvation in which we’re able to reject sin and abstain from worldly lust by the power God wherein we,re able to embrace the righteousness of God to be able to walk in Holiness.

We can only achieve this abstinence from sin by the help of the Holy Spirit, through faith in Jesus Christ, who came through God’s grace and mercies, to make that which had become unclean by sin, holy unto the Lord.

The Greek transliterated word for holy is Hagios, which implies faultlessness and purity, which can only come through the redeeming power of the Holy spirit.

Only through the blood of Jesus can we be cleansed from our sins through faith, and be made holy.

The word perfect derives from the Greek transliterated word teleios which means “whole” or “complete”; hence when the Lord called us to be perfect he was actually commanding us to be whole and complete, as we were before the fall.

To be Whole implies, where we were once broken and wretched because of sin, now through Jesus Christ we are healed and made whole; we are entirely delivered, by the removal of  darkness from our lives, through faith and a repentant heart.

During this great transition from darkness to light, the Lord changes and transforms your life setting you apart for himself, to make you whole and complete in him again; thus restoring holiness. However we must carefully keep in mind, that all this is dependant on the individuals love for God.

We must endeavour NOT to show part obedience, but to make sure, with all diligence, to show sincerity towards God, with all obedience. Note, The level of our sincerity to God will determine our Obedience to him. See John 14:15:

“If ye Love me, Keep My Commandments”

Before Jesus was manifested, God Instructed the children of Israel in Leviticus 19.2 to be Holy :

“Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the Lord your God am holy”.

In order for the Children of Israel to meet up to this requirement of Holiness, the Sovereign Holy God required that the Children of Israel offer blood sacrifices (sin offerings), which in that instance would temporarily cleansed one from his sins, thus making him holy before the Holy GOD.

Each Year the High priest was required by God, to enter the Holiest of Holiest to make sacrifices for the sins of the people and for himself. However, Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice for our sins, in which his blood was shed, and as a result of the shedding of his blood, we are no longer required to offer unto God sacrificial sin offerings, wherein the blood of animals was sprinkled for the sins of the people, except to believe in his Son Jesus Christ, genuinely repent of our sins, and be baptised for the remissions of sins. Ref. Acts 2:38

Hebrew 9:11-14 reveals

“But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. 12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. 13 For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean,  for the purifying of the flesh, 14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? ”

See 1 Peter 1:15-16 where we are instructed to be holy.

“but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

Isaiah 6:3

“And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory”.

Without Holiness it is impossible to please God

Romans 6:19-22 declares:

19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness. 20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. 21 What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. 22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.

The whole duty of man is to love God, with all our heart, with all our strength, and with all our soul in Jesus name,

ref. Mark 12: 32-33.

We must also present our bodies a living sacrifice, Holy and acceptable unto God which is our reasonable service. Ref. Romans 12:1

We embrace and show great respect to our earthly fathers whom we love; But our Divine Spiritual Father, who is above all earthly fathers, whom we cannot see, for he is a Spirit, should be acknowledged above all; FOR WHAT REASON ? He is God, and for that reason all the glory, honour, praise and adoration belongs to him. He is the King of kings, the giver of life, the everlasting Father, GOD.

To be holy unto the Lord is a great redemptive work of God, so that man, who is defiled by sin, wretched and lost, can be made Holy.

Isaiah 64:6 declares “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away”.

We must not continue in sin after conversion. We must be converted

We must maintain our relationship with God by adhering to his Word. We cannot be holy by our own works of righteousness; but by the righteousness of God’s Word with its cleansing power.

John 15:3 “Now ye are clean through the Word which I have spoken unto you”.

The Word of God teaches us about the light; So by the administration of the Word of God in our lives, We must therefore, absolutely endeavour not to be a hearer of the word only, but also a doer of the word . See James 1:22-25

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For the Lord is able to keep us from falling back into sin, to present us faultless and holy, before the presence of his glory. see ref. Jude 1:24 -25 .

2 TIMOTHY 2:15-16

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Our commitment to God will determine our relationship with God. Holiness is the result of having the right relationship with God, in which we become rooted and grounded by the Word of God. Therefore by the Lord’s Holy Spirit and his Word, he helps our infirmities, strengthening us; and as a result of the intervention of God, we are able to stand.

What Else Must We Do To Be Victorious?

ANSWER: Put on the whole armour of God that we’re able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Ephesians 6:10-18

We Are A Holy Nation in the Light

1 Peter 2:9 declares:

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light”.

In order to enter the spiritual realm of God’s Holy courts, we need to know what is required.

Please see below scripture: Psalms  24:3-4

“Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?  He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

Calling all Saints of God, that I may edify, remind and encourage us all, that the Lord God is coming for a Holy people, a Holy nation. We must with all diligence resist the devil, at all cost, to the extent that we are victorious in the resisting of all his sinful temptations.

God won’t except anything less than Holiness.

The enemies plot is to try to bombard Christians with the cares of the world, to take them off the track of righteousness, but we must stand faithful, vigilant, diligent, watchful, praying throughout, for the the Lord has equipped us with his power and authority to stand.

Luke 10:19  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Once our minds are made up to absolutely obey God, no matter what your going through, and your Goal is Light, then you are already more than a conqueror by the power of God.
The Enemies of God do tremble when they know you are not standing with them in sin anymore, INSTEAD YOUR GOING AGAINST THEM, BY THE POWER OF THE ALMIGHTY GOD.

God knows our state before we come to him

God’s tender mercies towards his children, prepared a way for us to approach him; Therefore man can approach God for the reason of repentance, and with a sincere heart to seek him for the truth. Isaiah 1:18 declares:

“Come let us reason together, saith the Lord: Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow, though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool”

The Lord will forgive you, because he loves you. He will accept you, as you are.  No matter what your condition may be, He his ready to forgive you, to heal your life, to transform you, to heal your heart, and to restore you for his Glory. That you may be one with him in Holiness and reverence, with Joy unspeakable.

Revelation 22:14

“Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city”.
