Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: No man cometh unto the Father, but by me. JOHN 14:6 (KJV)

What is Holiness?

(1) Holiness is the state of being Holy. It is also the state of being totally committed and obedient to God in terms of walking in his righteousness not ours. Holiness is the state of spiritual purity, which only comes through the power of Holy Spirit in Jesus name.

(2) Holiness also involves active works of obeying the holy laws of God and abhorring sin, this is done by resisting the temptations of sin by the help of the Holy Spirit, who intervenes to help and empower us to live holy lives, according to the Holy Bible, the Word of God.

(3)  Holiness is also the state of being set apart from the rest of the world with its sinful deeds; and choosing to please God instead, through his mercies in Jesus name.

The state of Holiness is actually the application of Biblical principles which must be applied to our lives through faith in his son Jesus Christ, hence, loving God with all your heart, and with all your soul, to the extent that you have no desire to sin against him. The state of holiness unto the Lord is also a spiritual union with the Holy Spirit with his cleansing power; in agreement with God's laws and his commands, showing reverence throughout to the Sovereign God and his son Jesus Christ in whom all honour belongs.

When we draw close to God through obedience, love and allegiance to him, we will come to know him in the spirit. It is by his spirit that we are made holy through our obedience. Without the help of the Holy Spirit, we cannot be holy.
Isaiah 64:6 makes very clear we are all unclean if we haven't encountered the cleansing power of God; "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away".
Only through Jesus Christ can we be cleansed from our sins; so by the power of the Holy Spirit we are made whole when we allow our minds to be transformed to walk in the light of his word.  See Hebrews 9:14: "How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!"

When we worship God, we must worship him in spirit and in truth.

O worship the Lord in the beauty of Holiness: fear before him, all the earth Psalms 96:9
The Lord loves when we worship him, but he wants when we worship him, that we worship him in the beauty of Holiness. Without holiness no man will see God . 1 Chronicles 16:29 declares "Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness".

Let's go more in depth with the word 'Holy'.

Greek transliteration for Holy is
hagios, it implies (a) sacredness unto God, (b) most holy thing, (c) set apart from the profane, (d) set apart for the Lord, (e) reverend unto God, (f) saint, (g) cleansed from all faults, (h) absence of fault.

Hebrew transliteration for Holy is qodash -  which also means:  (a) to be set apart from the profane,
(b) sacradness, (c) seperateness.
God is Holy - God declares in Leviticus 10:3 that he will be known as HOLY, for he is Holy.
God is separate, set apart from everything that is unholy.
Isaiah 6:3 reveals  "And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory".

God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, they are all one, fully God, all three having the Glory and Power of God abounding exceedingly to accomplish the task in setting his people free from the bondage of sin. See reference scriptures:
Galation 1:1-
Apostle Paul testifies of Jesus divinity with God, see scripture: "Paul, an apostle—sent not from men nor by a man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead". Further more also se Colossians 2:9 "For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body"

God's command to us “You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy” (Leviticus 19:2).

1 Peter 1:15-16 But as he which has called you is holy, so be you holy in all manner of conversation: 16Because it is written, Be you holy; for I am holy. We know according to scripture that holiness is the state of being pure, perfect, sinless and absolutely dedicated to the one and only true God; also abstaining from worldly lust and sin by the help of the Holy Spirit. The word "perfect" in Greek transliteration means "whole" or "complete"; hence when the Lord called us to be perfect, he actually commanded us to be whole and complete as we were before the fall. 'Whole' meaning to encounter God's healing power through faith,  which will change and transform us, and make man whole and complete in him again.

When the strongholds of darkness entered into the life of man, darkness took precedent and consequently led men captive; HENCE OUR STATE: Man has corrupted himself ; but thanks to God "Salvation" through Jesus has come to heal all our brokenness, to bring us back to the state of holiness and sanctification unto God.

To be holy unto the Lord is a great redemptive work of God

John 15:3
Now ye are clean through the Word which I have spoken unto you.

Acts 3:19
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

Hebrew 12:14
Follow peace with all men and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Holiness is the result of having the right relationship with God. The Lord's Holy Spirit which dwells in the believer, helps our infirmities, he leads us into all truth, and keep us from falling back into sin.

Without Holiness it is impossible to please God

1 Peter 2:9 declares  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.
A Word of encouragement and Correction, to those who may be thinking that God understands, and that he will accept sin...., God would never accept or settle for sin, or unholiness in our lives; he's counting on us to be absolutely obedient to his Word; Hence he's coming for a prepared people who have totally committed their lives to him in terms of denouncing sin in their lives.

God is a Judge
"God is a just judge, and God is angry with the wicked every day"
 Psalms 7:11

In order to enter the spiritual realm of God's Holy courts, we need to know what is required. The Holy Sovereign God of heaven and earth is calling on all the nations of the world to turn from sin and serve him; The Lord is gathering all his children from the four corners of the earth to acknowledge him and serve him, hence, the whole duty of man is to love God with all his heart, soul, and with all understanding in no other name but Jesus name (MARK 12:33)

Please see other scripture references which absolutely makes clear the expectations of God where man is concerned, through his mercies: Psalms  24:3-4  Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?  He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

We must:  ".. Gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ 14 As an obedient servant, not fashioning youselve according to the former lusts in your ignorance .
15 But as he which hath called us is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation. 16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy"
Ref. Peter 1:13-16 .

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God". For the Lord is able to keep you from falling and to present you faultless and holy before the presence of his glory. ref. Romans 8:14

Calling all Pastors, Prophets,  Bishops, Missionaries, Apostles, Evangelist, Teachers of the Word, and all the Saints of God, whom God has called to walk in his Light; That I may edify, remind, and encourage you in love, through the leading of the Holy Spirit, that we are .. "...a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Priest of the Lord, God's royal subjects,  Saints of the most high God,  we know by the Word God that God won't except anything less than Holiness. Hence we will continue to abide with him in all vigilance and allegiance, without compromise in Jesus name.

The enemies plot is to try to bombard Christians with the cares of the world, to take them off the track of light; But, but we who are called in Jesus Name will endeavour not to allow this to happen, for we will stand  faithful, vigilant, diligent, watching and praying throughout, for all generations. For we are more than Conquerers. The key is to Love God and understand his heart, in this we shall overcome.

Know this Saints of God!
"Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you" Luke 10:19Note Holiness does not mean freedom from temptations, actually it means the opposite, for we live in a world of conflict, darkness, demonic activities, principalities and dark powers. Hence, because we stand for holiness, we will experience the most relentless assaults in the battle, and more intense temptations; note, Jesus went through temptations but overcame them by applying the Word against the enemny.
"No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it" 1 Corinthians 10:13.

The bible declares resist the devil and he shall flee: "
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" James 4:7. Yes, we are more than conquerors to overcome all temptations, and with our hearts aligned with the word of God, wer able to achieve victory.

For those who have'nt yet surrendered their lives to the Lord Jesus God knows your state even before you come to him, his tender mercies has prepared a way for you to approach him at his mercy seat.  You can approach God for the reason of repentance, or approach him out of curosity to seek him for the truth, or to cry out for help The Lord God, in Jesus name will welcome you with open arms.
If you have not yet surrended to the Lord, feel free, the Lord is calling you to come to him, don't  be afraid, he understands you, though your sins be as scarlet he will forgive you. The Lord loves you, and will accept you as you are.  No matter what your condition or what you've done; He his ready to forgive, heal and transform you;  to turn your heart, to restore you, all that God needs is a repentent heart.

Put on the whole armour of God that we will be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:12
